Bob Anderson –BIO
Bob Anderson has been known as the great impersonator sounding convincingly like Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., and the like, but today Anderson wants you to hear his own amazing voice and know him as Bob Anderson instead of the great impersonator. Despite innumerable performances on nearly every stage in every major city in 30 countries on 5 continents, this album is the first time he has been heard purely as himself, and his own voice is actually his best voice.

As a young man, Bob Anderson found himself at Merv Griffin’s 50th Birthday party at his home. There were many celebrities there. All of a sudden, Merv started playing the piano and asked Bob to come up and sing a couple of tunes with him. Bob recounts, “I started singing the songs like the people who made them famous. If he played Misty, I sang it like Johnny Mathis. If he did Delilah, I was Tom Jones. Within five minutes, you could hear a pin drop at Merv’s house [it was a noisy crowd of about 300]. Robert Goulet was standing in the back with his arms folded and shouted, ‘Can you do me?’ So I sang If Ever I Would Leave You as Robert Goulet. Cary Grant was sitting on the floor by the piano saying, ‘This is really amazing! I have never seen anything like this!’” And with that, Merv turned Bob into the singing impressionist appearing on every talk and variety show with over 200 national appearances including Showtime, HBO, Telethons, Mike Douglas, Merv Griffin, David Letterman, and the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson—twice in one week! In 2015, VH1 voted Bob Anderson the #1 celebrity impersonator in the world, an honor that was also given him by People Magazine. A very close friend of Anderson’s, the legendary Tony Bennett, proclaimed, “He does me really well, doesn’t he? He does everybody well, that’s his gift. His vocals, gestures and characteristics of the artist are absolutely accurate.” When Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin were guests at Anderson’s show in Atlantic City, Dean Martin quipped, “You do me better than me,” and with his arm around Anderson, a smiling Sinatra said, “Kid, you have a hell of an act!” Anderson not only impersonates the greats, many are close friends, and in most cases, joined him on stage. There is no other performer alive who can convey the style, substance, and spirit of their era with such skill. Another friend, Tom Jones, said, “The reason Anderson is the best at what he does is because he actually sings as well as the person he is doing.”

And today, Anderson wants you to hear his own amazing voice and know him as Bob Anderson instead of the great impersonator. Despite innumerable performances on nearly every stage in every major city in 30 countries on 5 continents, this album is the first time he has been heard purely as himself, and his own voice is actually his best voice.

“Bob Anderson has a powerful and richly expressive voice. His phrasing and emotional depth gets to the guts of a lyric, and he is easily capable of holding an audience in rapt attention.”
–The Hollywood Reporter

“The man is a genuine, accomplished, top-quality entertainer, and this is why Tony Bennett is in his audience, sitting [up close].”
–Boston Herald

“As fine a talent as there is in the business.”
–Tony Bennett

“In our book, Anderson rates right up there with Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett…”
–Las Vegas Sun

The recordings on this album are all taken from live performances in New York City, Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, Hollywood, Boston, and the like. So sit back and enjoy an hour with Bob Anderson himself—LIVE!
